Why Mutant Speakers (speakers)

Even from the factory your car In Car Entertainment system probably came with speaker... However, most manufacturers use cheap speakers with cones made of paper of card, yes you read that right PAPER!! No wonder they sound crap! Mutant Car Audio speakers provide you with an unrivalled audio experience and ensure a much fuller sound. With speakers ranging from Mutant 4" to Mutant 6x9" they are capable of both low frequency bass and high frequency treble, which are simply inadequate in a standard system. This is not just for people interested in coma inducing power but for those who love quality sound replication Mutant speakers are a must.

There are three different levels in the Mutant range, Mutant speakers, Mutant X speakers and Mutant XXX speakers. Mutant is the entry level, Mutant X the premium and Mutant XXX the competition level ultimate performance range. All the Mutant speakers in each level are supplied in pairs.

How do I choose?

A speaker is rated in watts the more watts the louder the speaker. There is also the size of the speaker too; a 4" speaker can not move as much air as a 6x9" speaker in a single movement if provided with equal power. So a larger Mutant speaker will produce more noise too. HOWEVER, the sounds they produce are slightly different this is the frequency, the larger the frequency your mutant speaker produces the higher pitch the lower the deeper the bass. A good system will use a combination of Mutant speakers to provide powerful mid range punch and quality treble reproduction. Mutant speakers, speakers, have just been redesigned in 2006 to have a more aggressive look sporting graphite look cones and black moody baskets. They have weighty magnets and range includes mutant 4" speakers (MT405), mutant 5.25" speakers (MT505), Mutant 6.5" speakers (Mt605) and a 6x9" (MT6905) mutant speakers too.

The Mutant X speakers are even more aggressive and better looking still and with bigger magnets and lots more power these Mutant X speakers really get things pumping! Mutant X speakers are available in the most commonly used sizes and as well as that they have ‘Component Kits' which marry a single axial speaker and a tweeter using a crossover to produce even better results. There is the Mutant X 4" speaker (MT405X) providing 100w of power the Mutant X 5.25" Speaker (MT505X) punching out 120w of power, Mutant X 6.5" Speaker (MT605X) punching out 180w of power and then there is the monster Mutant X 6x9" (MT69SPX) speakers which peaks at a crazy 300w. The Mutant X range sport a strong steel basket construction chrome style tweeters and fierce looking mutated grill covers. The cones are a graphite grey with deep meaty rubber surrounds allowing plenty of cone movement.

The Mutant XXX range is the newest and badest of them all and has brought cutting edge high competition level equipment to a new level of affordability. Here you don't have the option of Co-Axials... its full component systems or nothing! Now component systems are the best way to delivery sound. They are focused and use a crossover (included) to break the signal up and send the right bit to the right speaker meaning that you get a cleaner and more powerful sound. You have the choice of a 4" kit the MT405XXXC, a 5.25" kit the MT505XXXC and a 6" kit the MT605XXXC.

Explanation of a two-way (Co-Axial) speaker...

In a Mutant two-way speaker, the bass and midrange signals go to the woofer, while signals above a certain frequency (often around 3kHz) go to the smaller tweeter.
