Why Mutant Subwoofers (subs)

Any In Car Entertainment system is incomplete without a subwoofer and for best results normally a couple of subs. Car Audio subwoofers provide the bass to you audio experience and ensure a much fuller sound. It is the low frequency bass provided by subwoofers, subs, that are the most inadequate in a standard system. This is not just for people interested in coma inducing power but for those who love quality sound reproduction Mutant subwoofers are a must.

There are three different levels in the Mutant range, Mutant subwoofers, Mutant X subwoofers and Mutant XXX subwoofers. Mutant is the entry level, Mutant X the premium and Mutant XXX the competition level ultimate performance range.

Mutant subs, subwoofers, have just been redesigned in 2006 to have a more aggressive look sporting graphite look cones and black moody baskets. They have weighty magnets and range includes mutant 10" subwoofers and mutant 12" subwoofers the MT1005 and MT1205 respectively. A sub is rated in watts the more watts the louder the subwoofer. There is also the size of the sub too, a 10" subwoofer can not move as much air as a 15" subwoofer in a single movement if provided with equal power. So a larger Mutant sub will produce more noise too. HOWEVER, the noises they produce are slightly different this is the frequency, the larger the frequency your mutant sub produces the higher pitch the lower the deeper the deeper the bass. A good system will use a combination of Mutant subwoofers to provide powerful deep bass and low-mid range punch.

The Mutant X subs are even more aggressive and better looking still and with bigger magnets and over twice the power these Mutant X subs really get things pumping! Mutant X subwoofers are available in the most commonly used sizes. There is the Mutant X 10" subwoofer (NW1040X) providing 800w of power the Mutant X 12" Subwoofer (NW1250X) punching out 1000w of power and then there is the monster Mutant X 15" sub which peaks at a crazy 1200w. The Mutant X range have a polished base and aircraft grade aluminium basket construction. The cones are a graphite grey with deep meaty rubber surrounds allowing plenty of cone movement. The Mutant X range also have an optional subwoofer grill for both the 12" sub and the 10" sub. These complete that edgy mean look with their claw like design.

The Mutant XXX range is the newest and badest of them all and has brought cutting edge high competition level equipment to a new level of affordability. This range is available in three sizes 10", 12" and 15". The Mutant XXX MT1005XXX is the 10" Sub and the MT1205XXX is the 12" Subwoofer and the MT1505XXX is the 15" king sub.
